Release of ALBUM # 5 + Performance by Oi Brenda

0047

0047 proudly presents the fifth issue of the fanzine ALBUM published by artists Eline Mugaas and Elise Storsveen.

Album#5 is a collection of somber images dealing with the difficulty in finding a place to sleep. It follows man from his early days, living in trees and the slow progress towards the invention of the sleeping bag. Album#5 is an investigation of mans dwellings – an honest history of architecture presented with full awareness of the fact that what something feels like is more important than what something looks like.

To celebrate the release of ALBUM#5, 0047 presents a performance by Oi Brenda, – project by Senta Rebecca Lürssen, Elin Rødseth and Tone Berg Størseth.

About ALBUM and the Artists
The images in the Album# zine series consist simply of found advertisements and photographic illustrations from old magazines and books, but their arrangement suggests a far more compelling meta-narrative involving sex, gender and the human body. The collected photographs were sourced from books and magazines focusing on etiquette, medicine, cooking, crafts and travel. And, of course, being from Scandinavia, sex education manuals (and the odd porn magazines) were also included. The publications were found at flea-markets around Oslo and reflect the type of popular imagery found in typical Norwegian households during the early 1960’s through the 1980’s and beyond. Album#1, #2, #3 and #4 have been seen at 0047, Torpedo and Printed matter since the release of #1 in 2008. ALBUM #5 is printed in a limited edition of 200 copies priced at 100,- NOK.
